From Law to the Land: Why I Chose Agroecology

I don’t think I found agroecology conventionally.

There was no childhood dream of becoming an agroecologist. In truth, for much of my life, I didn’t even know the breadth of careers that existed within agriculture, ecology and land management.

My path began somewhere entirely different.

It began with law.

Rooted in Connection, Guided by Purpose

Rooted in the Land is where agroecology, curiosity and a deeper understanding of our landscapes come together.

This is not just about observing the countryside from a distance. It is about exploring the relationships that shape it, between soil and plants, farmers and food, people and the natural world.

Through thoughtful research, field notes, photography and film, I share my journey of learning and discovering the practices, ideas and people working towards a more resilient future for our land.

Built on curiosity, respect, and a desire to understand, Rooted in the Land is a place to slow down, look more closely, and reconnect with the landscapes beneath our feet.
